+ When should I order my cake with you?

For bespoke cakes at least six weeks is ideal. Always contact us in case of short notice cakes to see if we can help. For cakes priced on the website 10 days is required, but again contact us for short notice in case we can help

+ Once we have confirmed my cake design can I make any alterations?

Yes this is no problem up to two weeks before the wedding. After then designs are final. Alterations will be charged at £5 per change, changes must be made in writing either by email. If we do not reply to your correspondence within 48 hours, please ring to check we received your email. (This stands for the return of the confirmation slip too or any other essential changes etc).

+ Can I collect my cake?

We prefer to deliver the cakes ourselves as we believe this is part of the service. We do however consider allowing clients to collect 2 or 3 layer cakes (stacked only) miniature cakes and cupcakes.

+ Do you cover all your cakes with marzipan as well as fondant?

As a general rule no we do not. Only our fruit cakes are covered with both. However if you prefer marzipan, (rather than buttercream or ganache under the fondant) then we would be happy to use it for you.

+ Can I have edible sugar flowers on my cake?

Edible or fresh we are happy to suggest designs to suit your taste and budget.

+ How can I pay for my cake?

We currently only accept Bank transfer

+ When are monies due for cakes?

Deposits are due to secure a place in our diary. On confirmation of your booking, an invoice is sent across and we kindly ask for payment by return. Deposits are 50% of the invoice for Bespoke Cakes. The rest is payable one month before the event. For priced cakes on website due to the short lead time cakes must be paid in full on ordering.

+ Can you work to a tight budget?

A plain iced cake with a choice of ribbon colour can be supplied, to which you can then add your own decorations or pesticide free flowers.

+ Do you make gluten, nut, dairy, wheat or egg free cakes?

We can accommodate these requests. Please note that although our cakes can be nut free they are prepared in the same kitchens as those cakes cooked with nuts.

+ How long will my cake last?

Your sponge cake should last up to 3 days, the traditional fruit cake 6 – 8 months.

+ How should I store my cake?

All cakes should be stored in a cool dark places on a flat sturdy surface. Do not put Fondant covered cakes in the fridge.

+ Will I get written confirmation of my order?

Yes you will. This needs to be signed and returned for the order to be fully confirmed, along with a deposit received in our bank account. Please check your order thoroughly before signing and returning the form. If an inscription colour or any other choice is left unselected on your order then we reserve the right to use our own discretion.

+ Do you deliver on Sundays?

Yes depending on our diary.

+ I am uncertain about booking with a Cake Company ref. to Health and Hygiene.

We take our work and clients very seriously and all work is hygienically undertaken with strict compliance to health and safety at our kitchen. Tori's Cakes hold a 5 rating from the EHO and holds a Level 2 Health & Hygiene Certificate.
