Every little girl wants a princess cake for their birthday.

Snow White was so much fun to make.

With a tin designed to make the skirt shape for the dress, I filled with a Chocolate Fudge Cake, i swear by this recipe for all children's cake, it's not too sweet but packed full of chocolate flavour and moist. This cake was filled with White Chocolate Buttercream, so that when it was cut there was a black and white striped effect. I always have to have filling at least 1/2" thick, otherwise what's the point!

I finished with a light coating of buttercream to hold the fondant skirt on, and away with with go, folding and pleating, not forgetting the underskirt, belt and a few flowers.

It's all in the detail and to me it's important that the board looks as good as the cake does. Boards can make or break cakes, so put the effort in and get the board covered and some ribbon on the edge and a little bow finishes it off nicely.

A cake to be proud of!
